Ah Halloween

Halloween is really for the kids in this house.  They love it – everything from the pumpkin carving:

to the dressing up:

and of course the bags of candy!  DD is shown in her school party costume, and then as the power ranger for trick or treating.  DS is the zombie, and his buddy is the white hair guy.  They had a wonderful time going out, and returned safely – which is all this Mom is really concerned about.

My knitting needles have been flying this past week.  This little number is a mobeus capelet knit with Lion Brand Fun Fetti on 8 mm needles.  Just cast on 30 stitches, knit until the piece is long enough to go around the recipient’s shoulders, cast off, twist the piece, and then sew it together.111_1167.jpg

DS requested a scarf for the upcoming winter – this is knit with one ball of Icelandic Jewels from Yarn Bee in a simple K1P1 rib pattern:

and I did another one in red, just for good measure:

I have been busy knitting baby socks with scraps of opal sock yarn – should have one to show next time I post! It keeps me out of the halloween loot bags!!
