Hi Kathy. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Now I know at least one of the people from Lethbridge who visits my blog.
AND … you’re a Niebling knitter kinda woman!! Excellent job, too! Why didn’t we meet in Lethbridge? You should check out my blog entry labelled “Fair Winnings” and read the story of my entries into Whoop Up Days last year. “I’ve never heard of lace knitting, should we put it with the crochet?” (a comment from one of the Hobby World folks)
Egads. Anyway, through my little connection with Nancy Panting (founder, Blankets for Canada), she helped me get permission to at least set up my own display. Unfortunately, my Lyra was the only Niebling I had knit up to that point, and it wasn’t dressed for display, so I didn’t enter it. However, there is some speculation that the Chatelaine Lily of the Valley tablecloth is actually a Niebling design (or a darn good knock-off), and that was one of my entries (got a purple “participant” ribbon, go figure).
You do wonderful needlework, and your garden is beautiful. I’m enjoying my return to Vancouver Island (after a 7.5 year absence, three of those years were in Lethbridge), and yes, it is certainly lush here compared to Lethbridge!
I’ll check in on your blog from time to time. Nice to hear from you!
Rosemarie Buchanan, formerly of Lethbridge, now from Port Alberni, BC.
Hey Rosemarie – delightful to touch base! lol – and we actually did meet and I saw your gorgeous lace knitting in person. I came to look at the couch and loveseat you had for sale, and we had a delightful chat about knitting and cats and life in general
I credit you and Yarn Harlot for getting me back to knitting again!
Hi there! Was browsing blogs and ran across yours referencing that you’d visited Whitefish! I grew up here, Isn’t it wonderful! Love your creations, as well.
Take care,
Pam
Hi Kathy
While doing a littlle google search I came across your blog and saw that you will be leading a stitch-a-long on my Honor Thy Needle Etui. If there are any questions or problems please contact me and I will be happy to help in whatever way I can.
Warm Regards and happy stitching
Judith
Kathy your blog is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kathy,
It’s been a long time since we last talked, but I thought I’d share that I’ve finally gotten around to putting those extra rows in Mother’s Arms. Thanks again so much for stitching it that way yourself and then letting me do it too! I’ll try to post a new pic by this weekend. I’ve only done the top 4 rows so far, but eventually I’ll make it down to the bottom 4. Hubby agrees, the design looks much better not being chopped off.
Happy stitching!!!
Melissa
